Frequently Asked Questions
Therapy can be beneficial for anyone navigating the complexities of life. It offers a supportive space to help you feel less stuck, reconnect with your strengths, and move toward greater clarity, freedom, and wholeness.
Therapy may help you:
- Cope with stress, anxiety, sadness, or anger
- Navigate difficult transitions, including loss or life changes
- Gain insight and develop new perspectives
- Strengthen relationships and emotional connection
- Learn how your mind and nervous system respond to stress
- Live more fully in alignment with your values and potential
You do not need to be in crisis to begin therapy. Many people seek therapy because something within them knows there can be more ease, peace, and integration.
arKardia Counseling & Consulting is considered an out-of-network provider.
Working with an out-of-network provider allows for greater privacy, flexibility, and individualized care. Insurance companies often require a diagnosis and may limit session length or frequency. By remaining out-of-network, your treatment is guided by your needs rather than insurance requirements.
If you wish to pursue reimbursement, a superbill can be provided after your session or sent securely by email. A superbill is a detailed receipt that includes the date of service, type of session, diagnosis, and provider information.
Reimbursement varies by plan and may be partial or full.
arKardia accepts cash, check, all major credit cards, as well as HSA and FSA cards.
Please do not let the fee prevent you from reaching out. Michele values accessibility and will explore options when possible to determine whether a mutually acceptable arrangement can be reached.
If a financial agreement is not feasible, referrals to trusted clinicians who may be a better financial fit can be provided.
arKardia provides psychotherapy services and does not prescribe medication. When appropriate, collaboration with a medical provider can be supported to ensure comprehensive care.
A combination of therapy and medication is sometimes recommended. Medication can help manage symptoms, while therapy addresses underlying patterns and sources of distress, supporting lasting change and overall well-being.
At arKardia Counseling & Consulting, client confidentiality and welfare are prioritized above self-promotion. Even small details can risk identifying a client and compromising privacy.
Additionally, the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics (Section 4.07[b]) advises against soliciting testimonials from current or former clients due to the potential for undue influence.
Session frequency is tailored to each client’s needs. Many clients begin with weekly or bi-weekly sessions. Recommendations are typically discussed during an initial consultation and refined following the intake session.
