arKardia operates as an out-of-network practice.
This model allows therapy to be guided by clinical need rather than insurance requirements. Treatment recommendations, session frequency, and the pace of healing are determined collaboratively based on your goals and clinical needs rather than limitations imposed by a third party.
For clients seeking reimbursement, a superbill can be provided for submission to your insurance company. Reimbursement varies by plan. You are encouraged to contact your insurance carrier regarding your specific benefits.
Questions to ask your insurance provider:
- Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
- Do I have a deductible that must be met before reimbursement begins?
- Is there a limit to the number of sessions covered?
- What percentage of each session fee is reimbursable?
- Are there any restrictions related to telehealth services?
Fees for services are listed on each page.
Practice Policies
Cancellation Policy
Because appointments are reserved exclusively for you, cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance.
Appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, will be charged the full session fee.
Exceptions may be made for emergencies or unforeseen circumstances at the discretion of the practice.
During inclement weather, your safety remains the priority. Options may include telehealth, adjusting the appointment time, or rescheduling without penalty.
Good Faith Estimates
Under the No Surprises Act, clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate outlining the expected cost of services.
You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services or at any point during treatment.
If you receive a bill that exceeds your estimate by $400 or more, you have the right to dispute the charges.
Additional information is available through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Confidentiality
Protecting your privacy is a foundational part of the therapeutic relationship. Creating a space where you can speak openly and honestly is essential to meaningful therapeutic work.
Information shared in therapy is confidential and will not be released without your written authorization except in situations required by law or professional ethics.
Exceptions to confidentiality include:
- Imminent risk of harm to yourself
- Imminent risk of harm to another person
- Suspected abuse or neglect of a child, dependent adult, or vulnerable adult
- Court orders or other legal requirements as defined by applicable law
I do not record sessions or use AI tools to transcribe, summarize, or otherwise process session content.
Any release of information requires a signed authorization specifying what information may be shared and with whom.
If you have questions regarding fees, insurance reimbursement, confidentiality, or any aspect of care, please feel free to reach out. I am happy to help you make an informed decision about whether arKardia is the right fit for your needs.
