Healing RetreatS for Women

Healing that stays with you long after you leave.

“I don’t know what it is about the EMDR, but I feel different.”

I hear some version of that at every healing retreat. After nearly three decades of clinical work, I wanted to create something that went beyond education, inspiration, and a feel-good experience.

I want you to walk through the doors feeling cared for and safe. More importantly, I want you to leave feeling genuine relief from the wounds that brought you here.

arKardia healing retreats are built around an advanced EMDR-based clinical model designed for concentrated group healing.

Each three-day retreat includes eight EMDR sessions delivered within a structured framework, supported by somatic work, experiential integration activities, and faith-informed reflection.

Women travel from across the country to participate. Some are referred by therapists, physicians, ministry leaders, and former participants. Others simply reach a point where they are tired of just surviving.

Every retreat is intentionally limited to four women who share a common wound and a common hope. Relational wounds are isolating in ways that are difficult to describe. For many women, this is the first time they have said the hard thing out loud and watched someone across the room nod because they truly understand.

The work is also outcome-informed. I use pre- and post-retreat measures because I want to know the treatment is working and, more importantly, that the relief experienced here remains when you return home and begin living your life again.

Healing should not end when the retreat does.

Ariséa™: Betrayal Trauma Healing Retreat

Ariséa™ is designed for women navigating the aftermath of betrayal trauma, including the fracturing of safety, trust, identity, and self-worth that often follows.

Many women arrive carrying self-blame, hypervigilance, a deep distrust of their own judgment, and the relentless feeling that somehow they were not enough. They understand what happened. They just haven’t been able to put it down.

Over three days, the work moves beneath the story, into what it left in the body, in the beliefs you carry, and in your sense of self. The goal is to help you rise above the weight of what happened, not simply understand it.

Sozara™: Divorce Healing Retreat

Sozara™ is designed for women navigating the grief and the question that often follows divorce, “Now what?” Divorce is rarely a single loss. It is often the collapse of many things at once: dreams, expectations, routines, identity, security, future plans, and sometimes even community.

Many women arrive having spent years accommodating, surviving, or holding everything together, often setting aside parts of themselves along the way. They know what they lost. They just don’t know who they are without it.

The work moves through honoring what was, understanding what you quietly carried, and stepping into who you’re becoming. The goal is to help you find yourself again.

Questions about healing retreats?

It’s a therapeutic healing retreat where therapy is the foundation.

Unlike wellness retreats, educational conferences, or peer support groups, these retreats are intentionally built around proven trauma treatment within a restorative retreat setting.

The schedule includes opportunities for reflection, rest, and connection because those experiences support the healing process. But every part of the retreat is skillfully designed to serve one purpose: helping you move beyond understanding your story toward meaningful therapeutic change.

These retreats are created for women who want more than encouragement. They are ready for therapeutic healing.

Many participants have already invested in their healing. They’ve attended support groups, read the books, participated in therapy, or gone on other retreats. Those experiences were often meaningful, yet many still sensed something remained unresolved.

Each experience is intentionally limited to four women and led by a licensed trauma therapist using evidence-based treatment, nervous system-informed care, and a thoughtfully paced process that allows time for meaningful therapeutic work, reflection, and integration.

Many women who attend are referred by therapists, physicians, ministry leaders, or former participants who believed this experience could serve them well.

For many, it’s the first time they’ve experienced a retreat designed not simply to help them understand their story, but to help them experience lasting change.

Many women come to arKardia because they’re looking for something they haven’t found elsewhere.

Some have spent years in therapy. Others have attended retreats or support groups that helped them feel understood but left them wanting deeper change. What they’re looking for is clinical depth in a retreat setting, something most retreats simply aren’t built to offer.

While every woman’s journey is unique, they all come with the same hope: to return home not simply encouraged, but changed.

Only what feels comfortable for you.

There is never pressure to share more than you’re ready to share. Many participants find that simply being with others who understand brings comfort, but your story always belongs to you.
