INDIVIDUAL THERAPY

Therapy for individuals ready for real change.

Weekly sessions, focused intensives, or a one-time consultation. The right pace depends on what you’re carrying and how quickly you want to move.

Some people want an ongoing relationship and steady weekly work. Others need concentrated time to move through something specific. And some aren’t looking for therapy at all, just an experienced read on a decision or a season.

What fits depends on your goals and where you are right now.

Three Paths. One Goal:
Lasting Freedom

This is the foundation of care within the arKardia framework. It is relational, intentional, and paced to honor both safety and meaningful progress.

Many of the people I work with have been in therapy before. We build on what you’ve already learned, while looking at what may still be keeping you stuck.

Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, therapy explores the experiences, patterns, beliefs, and relationships that continue to shape daily life. Together, we work toward more than understanding. We work toward lasting change that can be felt in the places that matter most.

Individual healing is available through three pathways:
• Individual Therapy
• Focused Healing Intensives
• Custom Consultative Suite

Each offers a different pace and approach. The best fit depends on your goals, circumstances, and what you’re hoping to accomplish.

Individual Therapy

Self-pay only, no insurance accepted

Individual therapy offers steady support and space for meaningful work over time. A standard 55-minute session is tailored to your history, current circumstances, and goals. Together, we work to understand what is happening, address what is getting in the way, and move toward meaningful change at a sustainable pace.

We start with an intake session to understand your history, your current concerns, and what brought you to therapy in the first place. From there, sessions happen weekly or biweekly.

What stays constant is the relationship itself: consistent, honest, and built to hold both the immediate challenges you’re facing and the patterns underneath them.

Individual therapy may be a good fit if:

  • You value an ongoing therapeutic relationship
  • You want support navigating current challenges while addressing deeper roots
  • You prefer a steady pace that allows growth and healing to unfold over time
  • You are looking for both support and meaningful change

Sessions are available in-person in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania and via telehealth in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey.

  • Initial intake session: $300
  • Individual session (55 min): $175

Custom Consultative Suite

Not everyone who reaches out is looking for therapy, some individuals are seeking clarity.

The Custom Consultative Suite is for professionals, leaders, helping professionals, and anyone who wants an experienced perspective on a challenge, decision, or season of growth.

Instead of an ongoing therapeutic process, consultation focuses on your current situation, what’s contributing to it, and a practical plan built around your goals. It’s especially useful for complex decisions, leadership challenges, burnout, or just wanting an objective, informed perspective.

What’s Included

  • Pre-consultation questionnaires to gather background information
  • A 2-hour Strategic Planning Session focused on your goals, decision-making, leadership challenges, strengths, and personal well-being
  • Personalized recommendations and practical strategies
  • Curated resources tailored to your situation
  • A written summary highlighting key observations, strengths, themes, recommendations, suggested resources, and possible next steps
  • A 30-minute follow-up consultation to answer questions

Because consultation is distinct from psychotherapy, it does not establish a clinical treatment relationship. Consultation does not include diagnosis, treatment, or psychotherapy services.

Investment: $695

Focused healing intensives

Focused healing intensives offer a different rhythm of care. This is immersive, concentrated care within a defined time frame. If you are ready for sustained, focused work rather than incremental progress over time, this pathway creates space for deeper attention and greater momentum.

Michele Montenegro, individual therapy provider at arKardia in Gettysburg, PA, ready to help clients find the right path forward.

Not sure which path fits?

That’s completely normal. Most people don’t contact me knowing exactly what service they need. They simply know they’re ready for something to change.

Before we schedule your first appointment, we’ll have a brief discovery call. It’s simply a chance for us to talk, for you to ask questions, and to see whether arKardia feels like the right place for you.

I hope you’ll leave that conversation feeling like you’ve met someone you can trust and talk openly with. But therapy is personal, and not every therapist is the right fit for every person.

If, after a session or two, you don’t feel like we’re the right fit, that’s completely okay. Your needs are always more important than my feelings. I’ll never be offended, and I’ll help you find another therapist who can help you.

A space designed for you

Sometimes a session ends and you need a few moments to gather your thoughts, sit quietly, pray, or simply transition before stepping back into the rest of your day.

For that reason, arKardia includes a private reflection room adjacent to the therapy office. Clients are welcome to use the space before or after sessions as needed. Some spend a few moments journaling. Others pray. Some simply sit in silence.

Questions about individual therapy?

Please don’t let the fee stop you from reaching out. I value accessibility, and I’ll explore options when possible to find an arrangement that works for both of us. If a financial agreement isn’t feasible, I’m happy to refer you to a trusted clinician who may be a better financial fit.

Previous therapy doesn’t mean you’ve reached the end of what’s possible.

Sometimes therapy provides valuable understanding but doesn’t create the lasting change you hoped for. That doesn’t necessarily mean you failed or that therapy can’t help. It may simply mean a different approach is needed.

Many of the people I work with have been in therapy before. Rather than starting over, we build on what you’ve already learned while looking at what may still be keeping you stuck.

Not at all.

While my faith shapes who I am, I work with people from many different backgrounds and beliefs. Some clients want faith woven throughout therapy. Others prefer clinical care with no faith component at all.

We’ll work in a way that respects your values, your goals, and what feels meaningful to you.

Working outside of insurance allows therapy to be guided by your needs rather than someone else’s requirements.

It gives greater flexibility in how I structure sessions, recommend treatment, and protect your privacy. If you have out-of-network benefits, I’m happy to provide the documentation needed for possible reimbursement.

The length of therapy varies because every person’s story is different. Some clients come for a specific season of life. Others choose longer-term work as they continue growing and healing.

During our work together, we’ll regularly evaluate your progress and talk openly about what feels most helpful. My goal is to help you move toward lasting change, and to do that without keeping you in therapy longer than you need.

Expect a conversation. The first appointment is less about treatment and more about understanding you.

We’ll complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment, which simply means I’ll take time to get to know you as a whole person. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your current concerns, your relationships, your health, important life experiences, your strengths, and what you hope will be different.

There is no pressure to share every detail of your story in the first session. We’ll go at a pace that feels manageable to you.

People are far more complex than any single therapy model. Every person arrives with their own story, strengths, relationships, experiences, and the unique ways those experiences have shaped them. Understanding you comes before deciding which therapy to use.

From there, we’ll talk together about the approaches that are most likely to support your healing. As therapy unfolds, we’ll continue paying attention to what’s helping and thoughtfully adjust our approach as your needs become clearer.

I don’t believe people should have to fit a therapy model. I believe the best therapy begins with understanding you, building trust, and intentionally tailoring care as healing unfolds.
